Today I have been mostly…

thai-prince… studying the history of prison as a form of crime control and thinking what a complete and utter waste of skin Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand (that culmination of years of major genetic mishaps) is after reading the story of Harry Nicolaides, the Australian writer convicted of lèse-majesté in Thailand and sentenced to three years imprisonment for writing a few lines in his 7 copy seller of a novel Verisimilitude in which he describes a  fictional crown prince as less than a paragon of virtue. Apparently he really meant to insult the real Crown Prince of Thailand,  Maha Vajiralongkorn, who’s so dumb his fingers and toes are numbered… you know the guy… Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand! He has a face like three week old road kill. According to interweb chatter Mr Nicolaides sent copies of his book to, amongst others, the Royal Household and the Thai government for approval before publishing, this isn’t simply a cultural clash, it’s disgusting.

It would  be nice to think than an online petition calling for this sentence to be overturned would have some effect. Instead the poor guy has pled guilty and pinned his hopes on a royal pardon. So instead of signing petitions I’ll just direct some insults at the pumped up little despot  Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand, after all it must be a totally weird living in a world where everyone tells you you’re brilliant.

I’ve never fancied visiting Thailand anyway.
