iHeartFaces – Kiss

I’ve been struggling to fit the themes at iHeartFaces so far this year. I blame the general fuginess of January, there’s just no light here at all this time of year. I’ve delved into my archives for this one, Paul “kissing” my arm.

Paul is an example of attachment parenting gone wrong. Whereas my first two were co-sleepers who naturally moved to their own beds through their own choice sometime between 2 and 3… see this one? Can’t sleep without skin to skin contact and he’s FIVE this year. It’s freaking me out a bit to be honest.

Not that I let him know that.

Except when I call him freaky-teaky.

  • Ah yes, I often have a naked 4 and a half year old child in my bed. It’s really disorienting when she gets in without waking us up.

That photo is awesome, by the way.

Very disorienting! He kicked me awake this morning – I checked the alarm clock and it said 00:9 and I got all excited thinking it was 9 minutes past midnight rather than an upside down digital clock :(

He keeps saying he will sleep in his own bed when he’s 12. This terrifies me.

  • Very sweet pic! I’ve always had the boys in their own beds. It’s at the point now where if Max is brought into my bed he thinks it’s time to play, not sleep! I prefer my own space when I’m sleeping. Hell, they have my attention the other 18 hrs a day… I’m entitled to some alone time when I sleep imo. ;)

  • Once again my pre-parenting ideals have slipped off the path! We were never going to have the children in our bed but frankly, at 1 in the morning, in the winter, when you know your child isn’t going back into their cot without a huge fight it’s just easier to get back into bed with them.

    Cute picture.

  • LOVE the blog makeover!! I’ve missed your entries! But I completely understand why. I’ve had a rough go of some of the entries because of stupid computer problems! But I’ll be getting my new one SOON! YAY! I can’t wait!

My kiddos co-slept with us too…and there was some great things about it, and some NOT-SO-GREAT things about it! HAHAHAHA One of them was GETTING THEM OUT! ;) Brooklyn is 4 and still with us though, too, and she’s my last….so I’m not sure if I’ll ever let her go. :)

LOVE your picture! It’s one of those very sweet captures that they’ll hate when they’re 18, and we’ll make sure to have it framed and hanging when their friends come over….

    oh the joys of parenting….
