Yesterday I set the camera up as per the good advice I found at the Digital Photography School before heading off to the big display in town, rather than my usual fingers. thumbs and cursing after I got there.

Mixed results to  be honest.

I have to balance the needs of three young ones who want to be as close to the action and the music as possible (fair enuff) with my desire to sit up a dark hill somewhere and get a perfect view from above which includes some buildings for perspective.

I’m probably too scared to go climbing hills in the dark anyway. I’d have to get there at lunchtime and wait…. sod that for a game of soldiers.

The fireworks worked better than the bridge, but  I did have three cold children and an impatient man hanging around – I need out on my own at night (fat chance!)

I crave an auto bracketing D90 more and more every day
